Heat Recovery Ventilators
Why use a Heat Recovery Ventilator?
With the energy efficiency and tightly built homes, a Heat Recovery Ventilator is important to "exchange" air from inside and out. A Heat Recovery Ventilator exhausts old, stale air from inside and brings in fresh air from the outside.
The Heat Recovery Ventilator core removes heat from the air that is being exhausted and transfers it to the cold, fresh air coming in.
Why can't I just open a window?
In our midwest climate, you can open the window in the summer, but in the winter that is discouraged. Even in the summer it is important to use the HRV because the incoming air is filtered and tempered as it passes through the core. Also, it exhausts stale air, pollutants, and moisture and keeps your home consistantly comfortable.
